- Munano is an original,kawaii,fun, creative project with a twist of darkness and naughtyness! It's the brain child of Portuguese artist Deborah Daniel. Inspired by a lust for the strange,the bizarre and the need to create. It's more of a one woman and her sewing machine operation at the moment! "My love for well made,quirky, honest design brought me to explore this process. I have been making things for...well,I can't remember a time when I wasn't! As a child I made all sorts:clothing,toys,dolls,drawings, music, story books and so on. I think I just need to be busy also I have a very short attention span so I like to be weaving in and out of things!" In fact this incarnation of /'m(u:)nan(u:)/ has been going for about six years now (since 2004).The project has evolved and morphed through out many fazes but the ethos has always remained the same.
